Photo: 12yr old Sikh boy accused of plotting to blow up his school in Texas

In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, December 15, Armaan Singh Sarai's cousin Ginea Haer said that a student at his school in Dallas, Texas, accused him of possessing a bomb which led to Sarai being taken out of school and sent to a juvenile detention center without his parents being told. Since then, however, Arlington, Texas, police said they indeed went to Nichols Junior High School on Friday after a student told a teacher that Sarai told him he was planning to blow up the school. Sarai's family insists he was framed. Read her post after the cut...
"This goofball on the left in this picture is my 12 year old cousin, Armaan Singh Sarai. He was born and raised in Texas by a loving #Sikh family. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family, watching tv, and playing video games. In his family, are his mom, dad, two sisters and a brother who love him more than life, after all he's the baby in the family. His family moved to Dallas, Texas about three to four months ago, and being the new kid wasn't that easy for him. It made it especially hard since he isn't able to get out much, due to a heart condition he was born with. The heart condition has led him to having three open heart surgeries, and he isn't able to do a lot of extra curricular activities. But his love from his family and friends has always been enough to keep his heart filled. His family and friends would describe to be really funny, nice, and a caring human being.
On Friday, December 11th, 2015, my cousin attended school, like any other normal 12 year old child. A bully in class thought it would be funny to accuse him of having a bomb, and so the principal, without any questioning, interrogation, or notification to his parents, called the police. Worried & frightened at home, his family was concerned as to why he had not reached home right after school. They started calling every police department in the area, only to find out he was sent to a Juvenile facility. They kept him held behind bars for three consecutive days, before finally releasing him on Monday, December 15th.
It hurts my heart and boils my blood that there are people stupid enough out there not only accusing us, but our innocent children of being terrorists! It sickens me even more that there are people even more stupid out there, taking their word for it. My cousin is a minor and was arrested without any evidence or guardian present! This should show you how fucked up the system is! There are good people out there, but the majority of the system is corrupt! All these bastards see is race & the color of your skin! He's more than what meets the eye people! I'm more, you're more, we're all more! The color of your skin does not define who you are! Please help share this post to open people's eyes to the fuckery that goes on in our system.

Remove Subsidy And Stimulate Infrastructure – Tinubu Tells Buhari

The National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to remove fuel subsidy without further delay.
Speaking at the 10th memorial anniversary of late Bala Usman, Tinubu said, with the removal of subsidy, the money can be used to feed school children with the country’s local products, promote agriculture and create jobs.
Tinubu said there were too many demons in the subsidy system, adding that “It is better that we remove it and spend the money to save the people instead of expend the people to save the money.”
The APC national leader noted that if Bala Usman was to be alive, he would have equally called for immediate removal of the subsidy, adding that, “What I have said here is more than talk. It is a call to action”.
Tinubu said, “In a perfect world, I wish we could sanitize the subsidy regime and thus continue with it. However, I have reached the conclusion that there are too many demons in the system for that hell to be turned into heaven.
“It is better that we remove it, not for the purpose of saving money but to use the money more wisely that we might better save the people. Let us begin a process of a thoughtful, but decisive subsidy phase-out.
“While this is occurring, we should simultaneously phase in social programs benefiting the poorest, most vulnerable among us.
Programmes such as transportation subsidies, school feeding, improved basic medical care and coverage for the poor, and potable water projects are some of the things that can be done with the same funds.”

Trump Tower website has outage after Anonymous' anti-Trump rant

The website for Trump Towers, Donald Trump's glitzy signature skyscraper in Manhattan, went offline for about an hour on Friday after activist hacking group Anonymous denounced the real-estate mogul and Republican presidential front-runner for his anti-Muslim comments.

The website for 68-story Trump Towers (http://trumptowerny.com), which Trump often uses for his presidential campaign, was down after Anonymous (@YourAnonNews) announced on Twitter: "Trump Towers NY site taken down as statement against racism and hatred. http://www.trumptowerny.com/(what you see is cloudflare offline backup)"
Earlier this week, the group posted a video on YouTube with a message that read: "Donald Trump think twice before you speak anything. You have been warned Mr. Donald Trump."

The group's warning to Trump came days after the outspoken billionaire proposed to temporarily bar Muslims from entering the United States in response to last week's shooting spree in San Bernardino by two Muslims who the FBI said had been radicalized.

Son of late Libyan dictator Gaddafi 'freed after kidnapping'

Hannibal Gaddafi, the high-living businessman son of the late Libyan dictator, was freed late Friday, several hours after he was kidnapped in Lebanon by an unknown armed group, security sources told AFP.
Lebanese police freed Gaddafi and were set to question him, one source said, without specifying where the businessman had been released.

A second security source said Gaddafi had been "kidnapped by an armed group in the region of Bekaa while he was travelling from Syria, before being released on Friday night in the same region".
Bekaa is an eastern stronghold of Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah.

Lebanon's National News Agency said Hannibal Gaddafi's kidnappers had demanded "information on Mussa Sadr", a Lebanese Shiite leader who went missing in 1978.

Beirut blamed the disappearance on the longtime Libyan strongman, and the Gaddafi family was branded persona non grata by Lebanon, especially among members of the Shiite Muslim community.

A former Libyan envoy to the Arab League, Abdel Moneim al-Honi, told the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat in 2011 that Sadr had been ordered killed during a visit to Libya and was buried in the southern region of Sabha.

Late Friday, the Lebanese private television channel Al-Jadid broadcast a video purportedly showing Kadhafi.

In the video he appears to have been beaten up and has two black eyes, but he says that he is "well" and calls on "all those who have evidence about Sadr to present it without delay".
It was not clear when or where the video was filmed.

President Buhari says names of looters will be published soon

President Buhari yesterday said that his adminstration will soon publish names of those who have returned portions of their loot.
President Buhari, according to Vanguard said that the Central Bank of Nigeria will soon publicly release the names of those who looted the country's treasury and have returned parts of their loot.

He said the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) hasn't published the list yet because they don't want to jeopardize investigations and further recoveries.

At the 15th session of the Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation lecture at the International Conference Centre, in Abuja yesterday, the president said:
“We have taken steps towards recovering a reasonable amount of the money that was looted or misappropriated from public coffers. Investigations are ongoing on public officers who served, or are still serving, and those whose conduct are questionable will be compelled to accept the path of honour and surrender their loot,” he said. “As I stated recently, a good number of people who abused their positions are voluntarily returning the illicit funds.
"I have heard it said that we should disclose the names of the people, and the amount returned. Yes, in due course, the Central Bank of Nigeria will make information available to the public on the surrendered funds, but I must remark that it is yet early days, and any disclosure now may jeopardize the possibility of bigger recoveries. “But we owe Nigerians adequate information, and it shall come in due course.

US search for Afghan trainees who disappeared while training with the U.S. military

US Air Force officials say the Department of Homeland Security has taken the lead role in the search for two Afghan men who disappeared while training with the U.S. military at a base in south Georgia.
The men - who were part of a group of 23 from Afghanistan who have been at the base since February - have now been identified as Mirwais Kohistani and Shirzad Rohullah.

Their names and passports were released Thursday as part of a federal investigation to track down the pair, after they failed to show up for training on Monday.
Air Force Lt. Col. Chris Karns said Friday that Homeland Security, in coordination with the U.S. State Department, is leading efforts to locate the men.

However officials maintain there is no evidence that either of them pose a threat.
The Air Force said both men were screened before entering the U.S.
'The students have trained alongside American counterparts for the entirety of 2015 and do not pose any apparent threat,' the Moody Air Force Base told 11 Alive on Tuesday.
'There is a well-coordinated process among federal agencies to locate the individuals as quickly as possible and return them accordingly to the proper authorities to manage their present situation.'
Moody reiterated Thursday that the men still did not pose a threat, even though efforts to find them had been ramped up.
The missing Afghan nationals in Georgia are assigned to the 81st Fighter Squadron, which was re-activated in January and charged with training Afghan airmen.

In January, a soldier in the Afghanistan army, who went missing during a training exercise at a military base in Massachusetts, was granted asylum by the US, the AJC reported.

The soldier was one of three Afghans who turned themselves in at a Canadian border crossing in New York state in 2014 after disappearing from an exercise, provoking a search by military officials and state police
