TBWA\Concept partners with Waje to support homeless children

You don’t need to look closely to see them. They’re everywhere. They wander the streets literally in search of their next meal, even begging to wash your windshield in return for any change you can throw their way and sometimes, they would just follow you along, begging for some money.

Ever stopped to wonder how street children cope with elements- when it’s raining cats and dogs, during harmattan or ask where they sleep at night or who treats them when they get sick?

To say that they live in harsh conditions is an understatement. These children are victims of abuse, broken marriages and abject poverty who have been forced out of their homes by unfortunate circumstances into a life of more abuse, hunger and hardship. Like any human being left to his own devices for everyday survival, they struggle to fend for themselves however they see fit. This poses a problem, as many of them get hardened by street life, becoming a huge menace to society.

Child Life-line, an NGO based in Lagos, has since taken on the sole responsibility of rehabilitating and providing shelter for these numerous homeless children. In a new partnership with TBWA\Concept and Waje, the organisation recently launched the LINK Initiative to give hope to street children.
Waje a musician/ artiste, UN ambassador and visioneer of Waje Safe House… used the launch to also launch her new single titled ‘African Child’, with the proceeds of the song going to Child Life-line to aid street children.
She enjoined other celebs, individuals and corporate organizations to support the Child Life-line Organization in its effort to help the homeless Nigerian child and provide them with the promise of a better tomorrow.
The LINK Initiative launch event was held on October 1, 2015 as part of Nigeria’s 55th independence celebration, at Child Life-line office at No 8, Lateef Onigemo Street, Gbagada-Lagos.
